National Mental Capacity Action Day

#1

Friday, March 15th is National Mental Capacity Action Day, a joint Ministry of Justice and Department of Health and Social Care initiative to improve implementation of the Mental Capacity Act.
If you are a parent or family carer you may like to read the Making Decisions section of the Thinking Ahead planning guide (to help families put things in place for the future) free to download here www.togethermatters.org.uk/1-making-decisions-pdf-2/ It gives an overview of the MCA, suggests ways to involve people in making decisions and also links to more detailed resources.

Together Matters also has a resource to support people with making choices which is part of a guide called I’m Thinking Ahead. How to Make Choices, which is free to download from this link [www.togethermatters.org.uk/how-to-make-choices-pdf/] helps someone to think about the choices they would like to make and who or what could help them to do this.
