Social care has the wrong view of risk – to the detriment of learning disabled people

It is isolation and inactivity that puts learning disabled people’s lives at risk, not going out and engaging with other people, says Chris Hatton in a Community Care article.


Couldn’t agree more, although carers and support staff need to be backed up by their employers and commissioners when potentially risky but appropriate decisions are taken. Sometimes bad things happen, even to people with a learning disability.
