Activity products for PMLD

Hi there, I am currently a UK university student partnered with a charity who produce sensory parcels for adults with PMLD. Developed in collaboration with artists and arts venues in North Wales, this program delivers engaging multisensory experiences directly through your door. Each time, a carefully curated parcel arrives, brimming with:

  • Sensory objects: Textures, sounds, and smells to ignite curiosity and exploration.
  • Activity ideas: Easy-to-follow guides for stimulating activities inspired by local arts events and exhibitions.
  • Trip inspiration: Discover accessible visits and workshops offered by cultural venues across North Wales.

My question to the forum is would these products be firstly of use to adults with PMLD and also would people be interested in purchasing these products. I am not trying to sell these products but simply trying to gain clarity around wants/needs of adults with PMLD.
Many thanks,

We have bag books, Jo Grace’s sensory stories and our own creations, so would potentially be interested

all sounds interesting …would like to know more. I work with post 19 transition and it could be something day centres might be interested in .

Hi
We are in the process to open few supported living accommodation with residential settings in Suffolk, so we will be interested in this too.

Sounds like a great idea . Where it goes wrong in my experience is that these things are so expensive organisations can’t buy many of them . Fun material, affordable and age appropriate would be amazing .

Hey, Just wondering what course and background you are studying. I’m currently studying Sensory Integration and am wondering how would you assess the peoples needs to design the sensory parcel specific to their sensory profile?
Would love to hear more on the project as it sounds like its taking a angle of therapeutic form of the arts and the artistic environments that by their unique nature have so many multisensory experiences already intertwined.

Hi, so I’m currently studying business with digital marketing. As apart of my course, I have been partnered with the charity Making Sense CIO who provide the sensory parcels. Currently, I am just trying to find some rough responses on demand for the products. The parcels are made generally for adults with PMLD as far as I am aware. They provide experiences virtually to customers via things like their soundboard.
