We are currently advertising for a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Internship.

Salary: National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage

Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Contract: Fixed term for one year

Location: Challenging Behaviour Foundation Office, Chatham, Kent (5 minute walk from the train station)

This is a new opportunity for a paid internship, ideal for a recent graduate wishing to work in the field of learning disabilities with the Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Academy. This role has been structured to provide you with valuable experience in researching and presenting information, evaluation of projects and working with a range of professionals in the field.

Do you have a Psychology or other relevant degree?
Are you able to research and evaluate complex information and present it in a way that is simple and easy to understand?

In this role you will:

Conduct an evaluation of the impact of the work of the Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Academy.
Develop an impact plan, with practical steps to extend the reach of the PBS Academy’s work.
Support the Challenging Behaviour Foundation’s work to influence change in national policy and implementation in the area of PBS.
Support the Challenging Behaviour – National Strategy Group and the PBS sub-group with PBS related projects.

The PBS Academy is a collective of organisations and individuals in the UK who are working together to promote Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) as a framework for working with children and adults with learning disabilities who are at risk of behaviour that challenges. This role will be based at the Challenging Behaviour Foundation (CBF) with input and supervision from the University of Warwick.
