ARC England - Emergency First Aid at Work Workshop, 29 August 2016 - Chesterfield

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is compliant with the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations, 1981. Incorporating both theory and practical activities this workshop will equip attendees with the skills and confidence to effectively and safely manage emergencies and prevent them from becoming worse until professional help arrives.

The intensive full-day workshop will include:

  • First Aid priorities
  • Managing incidents
  • Basic life support
  • Examination of a casualty
  • Unconsciousness
  • Control of bleeding
  • Burns and scalds
  • Regulations
  • First Aid kits
  • Recording and reporting

Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the student, and final exam at the end of the day. Each qualification is valid for three years. Under the current guidelines it is strongly recommended that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every twelve months. The Basic Life Support workshop fulfils this criterion.
