Supporting Medication in Social Care Settings Train the Trainer Workshop
21 January 2020, St Austell, Cornwall
Our newly updated one-day Supporting Medication in Social Care Settings Train the Trainer workshop is suitable for already competent trainers within social care who would like to deliver our updated ‘Supporting Medication’ course materials to the staff within their organisation - providing their staff with the underpinning knowledge and understanding that will promote their competency and consistency when supporting individuals with their medication management.

The Supporting Medication course has been written to cover the knowledge needed to complete the City & Guilds units 343 Support the use of Medication in Adult Care or 344 Administer Medication to Individuals & Monitor the Effects ; both from the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care. As well as covering the knowledge aspects of the NOS (National Occupational Standards) SCDHSC3122 and SFHCHS3.

Learning Disability Awareness Workshop

New Workshop!

We are delighted to introduce a brand new ARC workshop on learning disability awareness, for staff new to learning disability services or those just wanting to gain a better insight into the people they support. The workshop is highly interactive with most work conducted through discussions, personal reflection, small group work and interactive exercises, offering opportunities for skills development.

This workshop covers :

  • Causes and definition of ‘learning disability’
  • History of terminology, attitudes and service models
  • Implications of learning disability
  • Legislation, policy, values and principles of service
  • Workers role and responsibilities
  • Models of support
  • Skills, knowledge and attitudes
  • Challenges
  • Communication skills

The workshop is written line with the Learning Disability component of standard 9 of the Care Certificate.
