Can you support an adult with learning disability to buy a sex toy?

Let’s face it, sex can be a tricky old subject at the best of times!

For a long time, people with learning disabilities have been treated as if they are no more than ‘big kids’ – any needs around sexual expression and intimate relationships were just ignored. But times are changing – if you work with people with learning disabilities, you need to feel confident to ‘Talk about sex’!

This one day course is for anyone who supports people with learning disabilities. We aim to raise your awareness of the issues around sexuality for the people you support and we’ll also make sure you know what the law says about it!

This looks really interesting. Wonder how many supporters have even thought of this, let alone done it?

excellent topic for a training course, to ensure that such issues are approached in a person centred way that is not risk adverse yet protects all involved. Remember Community LD Nurses can always provide guidance.
