Funded PhDs at King's College London

Applications for ESRC funded PhDs in Social Science research are now being accepted through the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS DTP). The deadline is 31.01.2020.

Dr. Deborah Chinn, a lecturer at King’s College London, would be very happy to receive expressions of interest from prospective students interested in undertaking an intellectual disability research project. Her own areas of interest in this area are:

  • Discourse analysis and conversation analysis
  • Participatory and arts methodologies
  • Access to services (mental and physical healthcare) and health and social inequalities
  • Training health and social care practitioners to work with people with intellectual disabilities

Support and guidance for prospective students in how to prepare a competitive application can be provided. Funding panels do not receive many applications for intellectual disability projects, so are a bit more likely to look favourably at these.
