I am a student Health Visitor completing a project on how Health Visitor can best help parents with a learning disability. I would really love to hear from you on what you think of this topic and any experiences you have.
We use a standardised model to look at parenting capacity, every parent is assessed the same. The assessment looks at the following:
Basic Care
Ensuring Safety
Emotional Warmth
Stimulation
Guidance and Boundaries
Stability
Are there any points here that stand out to you? Do you feel a Health visitor supported you well or if not what could gave been done better? Any feedback or experiences from you would be greatly appreciated. I would be using your feedback in my project but I will make sure I maintain your confidentiality and I will not include any user names or the name of this forum.
