Invitation to Kent Surrey Sussex Academic Health Science Network’s Learning Disability Engagement Event: Wednesday 11th December 2019

Invitation to Kent Surrey Sussex Academic Health Science Network’s Learning Disability Engagement Event: Wednesday 11th December 2019. Please register to attend here.

We are writing to invite you to the Kent Surrey Sussex Academic Health Science Network’s (KSS AHSN – please see our website for more information about AHSNs) Learning Disability Engagement Event on Wednesday 11th December 2019, 9:30am – 3:15pm at The Charis Centre in Crawley, West Sussex.

We want citizens, families, carers, health and social care professionals, the voluntary sector and academia to help us describe the range of needs or problems for people with learning disabilities in Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

December 2019 marks the acceleration of our work in engaging our local NHS, health and social care partners to understand the needs of those living with learning disabilities or relatives and carers of those with learning disabilities. We want to understand the challenges that could be improved by innovative technology and approaches, and communicate these needs to innovators in a way that encourages the most effective response. Together, we want to stimulate the development and testing of person-centred solutions for improving outcomes and experience of those living with or connected to those learning disabilities.

We hope this is of interest to you, and if so, we look forward to seeing you at this exciting event. Please do circulate this invitation amongst your networks and any interested parties, and please email us directly if you would be interested in sharing your experience on the day.

Best wishes,
Des Holden, Charlotte Roberts and Athina Lockyer
