Emergency First Aid at Work Level 2
This Emergency First Aid at Work course is in line with the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations (1981). A combination of practical and theory sessions, this full-day HABC accredited workshop meets the mandatory training needs, enabling candidates to confidently handle first aid incidents in the workplace.
This full-day workshop covers:
- First Aid priorities
- Managing incidents
- Basic life support
- Effective dealing with injuries including, unconsciousness, bleeding, burns and scalds
- Correct recording and reporting
Certification is dependent upon successful continuous assessment of the student and final exam at the end of the day.
Costs: £60 per person
(including exam and certification)
In line with the revised First Aid Guidance issued on 1st October 2009, staff are strongly recommended to complete annual first aid refresher courses.
This half day workshop acts as a refresher of the Emergency First Aid at Work Level 2.
Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the student, there is no final exam.

If you have any form of food service in your workplace then food safety training for your staff is of high importance - the ramifications of poor food safety can be very serious.
This half-day workshop covers:
- Relevant legislation
- Individual responsibility for food safety
- Personal hygiene
- The importance of keeping the work areas clean and hygienic
- How to safely store food

This course provides individuals with the knowledge and skills required to ensure that the workplace is safe and the risk of fire is reduced.
This half-day course covers:
- Overview of the relevant fire regulations
- Role of the Fire Warden
- Fire prevention and containment
- Fire drills and the safe evacuation of people from the workplace
- Classes of fires
- The safe operation of fire extinguishers
Costs: £30 (ARC Members) | £40 (Non-members)
This one-day conflict management course introduces the notion of confrontation in the workplace and the best ways to effectively deal with it.
The full day workshop covers:
- Understanding and identifying workplace violence
- Effects of communication and tactical communication skills
- Risk Assessment /Threat Assessment
- Correct recording of incidents
- Interventions can be included such as breakaways to enable you to disengage from the situation
Costs: £65 (ARC Members) | £75 (Non-members)
The course is suitable for any workplace that works with people who have behaviours that make it difficult to give them the care that they deserve whilst maintaining dignity and respect.
This full-day workshop will cover:
- Understanding ‘behaviour that challenges’?
- Possible causes & triggers
- Proactive and reactive strategies
- Basic response strategies
- Recording & reporting
Costs: £65 (ARC Members) | £75 (Non-members)
This course is designed to provide all employees with the essential knowledge and skills to undertake person centred planning, care planning and record keeping within their workplaces.
It aims provide candidates with the under-pinning knowledge and skills required to promote person centred care and to enable them to accurately record information within their workplace.
This half-day workshop covers:
- What person centred planning is and the process and thinking involved
- Approaches to person centred planning
- Confidentiality, Data Protection Act 1998 and Access to Health Records Act 1990
- Record keeping processes
