Produced and updated by the NHS December 2025.

HI yesterday & todays links from BDS are not opening.

Cathy

Thanks for the heads up! They are now working.

Thanks for flagging Cathy and thanks for sorting Neil!

Barry

Thanks to everyone for sorting the Easy Read of ‘We are here to help you stay well this winter.’

I hadn’t realised all these topics are in the one so-called ‘leaflet.’ When I see the word leaflet, I would normally think of a single sheet of paper.

I am from Australia. My team do not write Easy Read due to the longstanding evidence on its many issues. I started Easy English more than 20 years ago. Here is a page explaining the significant differences, also with links to some of the research.

We are currently in the midst of a heat wave. This is a project we did a few yeas ago for a council in the Melbourne (Victoria) area. Its initial audience was people new to Australia. However, it is used widely by all the population, including people with intellectual disability.

Thanks, Cathy

Thanks very much Cathy for your comments and taking the time to feedback.

This is all really interesting and I’ll take a look at the links and get back to you.

Barry

Thanks again and hope you are ok and keeping safe in Australia.
