We are reviewing the language we use when writing policies. They are currently quite formal. We want the language to reflect our values, ensuring the person is at the centre of everything we do. If anyone has any examples, guidance or course recommendations they would be greatly appreciated.

this is the best news i have heard in a long time in the past as a family carer i had to deal with all sorts of professional people all using professional language , expecting me, a family carer to understand what was being said, for me to the annoyance of professionals , it was important i had an independent person that would explain to me paragraph by paragraph , the whole experience was terrifying it undermined me so much .
so please, make this project inclusive on all levels, let’s all understand what is being said .
