Project Manager for People First Dorset required

People First Dorset are looking for a Project Manager to lead, manage and develop the Quality Checkers Project. The successful candidate will be an experienced, dynamic, creative and business minded individual who is keen to manage and develop this exciting and important project into a self-sustaining enterprise.

What is the Quality Checkers Project? The Quality Checkers are a team of people who have a learning disability, and are currently commissioned to check services such as day centres or residential homes, which are mostly used by people who themselves have a learning disability. The team all volunteer and are ‘experts by experience’. They find out what is good and report back on how services might also do things better.

Who are People First Dorset? We are a small, responsive and creative user-led charity, running a variety of different projects, including Speaking Up groups, the Forum and the Friendship Club. We support people with learning disabilities to speak up and lead change. People First Dorset has an excellent and well-deserved reputation for delivering high quality user engagement services. Job Spec: Please find the Job Description and Person Specification attached. The role is 16hrs per week and the salary £27,105 (pro rata). The contract currently runs until end December 2017, but there is a strong possibility the contract will be extended. Furthermore the project has scope and opportunities to develop new income streams. It is a key expectation of the role that the successful candidate will generate additional hours to the existing role.
