Road Safety and Special Educational Needs

Department for Transport are funding a research project into road safety education and special educational needs.

I am a researcher at University College London and leading a project, funded by the Department for Transport, exploring road safety and SEN. This project aims to better understand how young people with SEN travel and learn about road safety.

I am recruiting families with a child between 7 and 18 years-old diagnosed with autism, ADHD, or a cognition and learning impairment. The families that participate will be loaned a small camera and asked to film three journeys they make that involve some walking.

Your participation would be really appreciated and would support the development of road safety education tailored to the needs of young people with SEN.

If you are interested in participating or would like to hear more please get in touch with me at s.otoole@ucl.ac.uk.

Thank you!
