Social workers

We have a unique opportunity in Trafford to create a “dream team” of social workers and social work assistants for people with learning disabilities and/or autism, which is soon to become part of an all-age integrated service. In Trafford, we are absolutely committed to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and we are incredibly passionate about the difference that social care can make to peoples’ lives.

We know that your job is tough – we expect you to work hard balancing reducing resources and high expectations from service users and families - and that is why we will give you fantastic support – regular and informal supervision, opportunities to think creatively about your work and peer support from enthusiastic and motivated colleagues at all levels of the organisation. You will also be able to access a robust training programme and flexible working.

If you are creative, passionate about your work and really care about the difference you can make to the lives of adults with learning disabilities and their families, then we want to hear from you.

We have vacancies for experienced social workers who want to work somewhere where your experience will be valued and you will be supported to develop further; as well as newly qualified practitioners, who need a supportive environment to feel more confident about their practice, before you become a fully practicing social worker. More than anything, you must want to work in an environment that is fast moving, enthusiastic and absolutely committed to achieving the best outcomes for our service users.

If you are interested in finding out more about what Trafford has to offer, then why not come to our Open Day on Wednesday 2nd December 2015.

We have a number of permanent opportunities for experienced and skilled Social Care professionals.

If you are interested in these roles, and would like the opportunity to learn more about them, the Council and our future plans, please come along to our recruitment open evening on 2nd December. We will be holding 2 sessions at 5.30pm and 6.30pm. The sessions will be held at Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road in Stretford M32 0TH.
Each session will deliver a presentation and the opportunity to meet with Service managers, to discuss how your skills will fit with our organisation and ambitions.
