Study Recruitment: Caregivers of adults with intellectual disabilities - experiences with supporting online romantic relationships/intimacy needed for thesis research

Hi, I’m Emma and I’m recruiting participants for my research study exploring caregiver decision-making when supporting adults with intellectual disabilities who want to use the internet for relationships, intimacy or sexual expression.

This research is part of my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire.

If you:

  • Are a caregiver (paid or unpaid) who regularly supports an adult with a learning disability
  • Have at some point helped them access the internet for relationship-building and/or intimacy
  • Are 18 years or older

Then I’d love to hear from you!

This research aims to better understand caregiver decision-making processes and could help improve support practices in the future.

Participation involves a confidential 60-90 minute interview. To find out more or to participate, please email me at e.quilter@herts.ac.uk

Also, please feel free to share this post with colleagues or connections who may be interested, even if it’s not relevant to your own experience.

Thank you for reading!
