Emotional Resilience and Stress Management for Staff

Aimed at all staff, this session helps you develop effective strategies for managing stress.
At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
- identify the importance of maintaining their own health and wellbeing
- describe the terms emotional health and resilience
- recognise stress, signs and symptoms and causes of stress
- identify pressure from growth proficiency, working with case complexity, risk and manage workload
- identify practical insights, tools and techniques to manage stress and recognise their own emotional state in the workplace
- manage and promote their own wellbeing and emotional resilience
- develop strategies to protect their own wellbeing

Supporting People with a Learning Disability through
Loss and Bereavement

Gain knowledge of practical solutions to support people who are grieving, or to pre-empt grief. This session is also suitable for those supporting people with Autism.
This one-day workshop will cover the following concepts and exercises:
- Terminology discussion
- Different losses in the lives of people with a learning disability
- Learning from personal experiences of loss
- Models of understanding the process of grief
- Complicated grief
- The importance of funerals
- Specific complications in grieving for people with a learning disability
- Practical solutions to support people through grief
