Upcoming training for professionals: seminar for counsellors on the needs of adult siblings - Fri 23rd Nov - London

Seminar for counsellors on the needs of adult siblings, 23rd November 2018, 2.30pm - 5.30pm, London

This seminar is for:
Psychotherapists, counsellors and supervisors who would like to develop their understanding of the issues faced by adult siblings who have grown up with a disabled brother or sister, in particular those faced by siblings of people with autism.

Purpose of the seminar:

Adult siblings who are looking for counselling services often ask us where they can find a counsellor who understands their sibling experiences. The seminar will help you:
• Recognise the differences between a typical sibling relationship and a relationship where one sibling has a lifelong disability (including learning disability)
• Better appreciate these siblings’ experiences and perspectives.
• Feel better equipped and more confident in your work with these siblings.

Adult siblings who are seeking counselling will feel more confident in approaching your service if you have attended this seminar.
