You will be working with a small, enthusiastic team of Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) based across the county as part of an innovative service which provides specialist, holistic assessment and intervention for adults with learning disabilities within a range of settings. Each therapist is embedded within a multi-disciplinary team, working alongside a range of allied health professionals, Nurses, Psychologists and Psychiatrists, allowing a uniquely holistic style of working.
You will be responsible for supporting the SLTs with both administrative and clinical tasks. This will include the screening of communication and dysphagia (eating and drinking) referrals, the development of communication resources, preparation of materials for interventions and setting up of training days. You will also be responsible for independently carrying out routine communication therapy and basic assessments with clients under direct supervision from the SLTs, including the facilitation of signing groups and training sessions at local day centres.
You must be a car driver and hold a full UK driving licence.
