Hello all
My sister in law (early 50s) who has PMLD desperately needs a new manual molded wheelchair. She is incredibly uncomfortable and unsafe in the one she has. Local wheelchair services are not helping, so she must go private to buy herself one.
We are looking for advice and signposting for comfortable manual molded chairs (her social worker & home manager are organising OT), any advice and recommendations gratefully received.
It’s an expensive business and we want to get this right for her. Thank you
oh goodness- this sounds awful - and her moulded wheelchair is vital to protect your sister-in-law’s bodyshape and keep her comfortable and healthy. Can PMLD LINK help? We would be happy to share your request on our Facebook page if you want to message us there? Annie
Hi
I have a 58 year old daughter with pmld. We live n sidcup kent.
I find there is very little help with physio or even hydrothapy in our area.
Do you know of anywhere. We Could get help n Kent or south London. We would be willing to use private facilities.
Thank you,
Kind regards
Pam
Hi,
Have you tried looking at local send schools as I know in my area they hire them out at a good price.

Yes please Annie, thank you for your reply.
Since my post the local wheelchair services have been to see her and are adapting the chair she has.
They aren’t making it moulded as they say the chair she has is prescribed for her and the best she could have, but they are providing add ons to make it safe and comfortable
We feel that she needs a new chair still so if you can share on PMLD link that would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve just sent a message to PMLD LINK
Thanks again
